BTCHN’ Bikes FAQ

Where your most burning bike questions get answered.

Which Bar Is Right For You?

Choosing handlebars shouldn’t feel like homework. Unless you’re into that kind of thing. Below is a guide , designed to try and help alleviate some of the difficulty in finding the right bar for you.

High Riser

The trend setter, the big sender.  At 70mm of rise, this is the bar that all the kids at the DJ park wanna be.  If you’re looking for a bar that looks sick and gives you enough room for tuck no-handies — this is it.  T-bog your heart out with the BTCHN’ High Riser.

P.S. They look good on your grocery getter as well.

Specs:

  • 800mm width (can be cut to requested width with BTCHN’ Cut Service)

  • 22.2mm (⅞”) center bore

  • Available in 13° or 16° backsweeps

  • Available in Titanium (both Plain Jane or Omakase) or 4130 chromoly

Mid Riser

The best of both worlds, and probably the bar you want.  At 50mm of rise, this is for those who prefer more room in the cock-pit.  Maybe you’re a “one bike to rule all” type. Maybe on the way back from the trail, you like to stop by the bike park.  This is it, your solution. The best of both worlds. Look sick. Go fast. Run the BTCHN’ Mid.

Low Riser

Low = Fast.  At 35mm of rise, this bar will offer a performance based feel, with still enough rise to protect your lunch money (it looks cool). Responsive and light, the Low Riser will give you the most modern fit.  Shaving off seconds at your next race is up to you.  Be a hero.  Run a BTCHN’ Low Riser.

Ti Bull Moose

Much like the Flat Tracker, the BTCHN’ Bull Moose knows cool.  This is the equivalent of a 0° stem with 50mm of effective stem length… Classic bull moose silhouette done the right way: clean lines, no nonsense. If you know you know. Grab a BULL MOOSE by the… grips?

Specs:

  • 800mm width (can be cut to requested width with BTCHN’ Cut Service)

  • 50mm of effective stem length

  • Available in 13°

  • Available in Titanium ONLY (both Plain Jane or Omakase)

So…which bar should you choose?

You want big air and you’re tricky → High Rise

You want versatility → Mid Rise

You want an efficient and a more aggressive fit →  Low Rise

You’re trying to minimize and you like simplicity → Bull Moose

Let’s Talk Backsweep, shall we?

Backsweeps and upsweeps are hard to find commonality between companies.  We all do it differently, and even the slightest adjustments will prove to add changes to one or the other.  Most of the time, it all depends on preferences.  If you roll your bars forward, you'll create more upsweep, but take away backsweep... and visa versa.

We like to measure from a flat surface, with the face of the bar in line with the head angle of your bike.

still unsure?

If you’re not sure, get the Mid Riser.  It’s a do-it-all solution. If you are sure, you already know which one was calling your name… thanks for scrolling.

Can I cut down my BTCHN’ bars?

Heck Yes.

All of our MTB bars can be trimmed down to 700mm while still leaving plenty of space for your controls. Titanium cuts just like steel—so if we don’t have your exact size in stock, grab a longer bar and have it cut down at home or at your local bike shop.

Note:Do not cut Drop Bars or WABs. Seriously—don’t.

Who makes your products?

We do — right here in Chico, California.
Every handlebar and seat post is designed, cut, bent, welded, anodized, and packaged in our shop in sunny Northern California. Supporting our local economy matters, so we hire friends and source local materials whenever possible. Community first, always.

why 22.2mm handlebars and not 31.8mm?

22.2mm (7/8”) bars have more inherent compliance than 31.8mm or 35mm bars.
We make bars out of 4130 chromoly and Titanium. Both materials are very strong and resilient, which allow them to flex more but still be strong enough to take a tumble. We source as much material as possible in the U.S. and support local economies by doing the work ourselves. Using 7/8" straight-gauge material lets us bend bars in-house, while most 31.8 metal and carbon bars are made overseas.

What does plain jane and Omakase mean?

  • Plain Jane: A sleek, brushed titanium finish with one BTCHN’ logo anodized in a fun color.

  • Omakase(Chef’s Choice): You give us creative freedom, and we get weird with it.
Expect heavy anodizing, wild colors, unique textures, and psychedelic vibes. These one-of-a-kind bars and posts ship fast, but they aren’t made to order—what we make is what you get.

BTCHN’ Logo Placement:

  • Handlebars: Logo placed on the front, drive side of the stem.

  • Seatposts: Small vertical logo on the back.
